Contemporary Garden Design with Bamboos in the Flower Bed

Contemporary Garden Design Concrete Slabs

The lady we worked for had a smart looking easy to maintain Contemporary Garden Design on her mind. She wanted to have Decking by the house, raised Patio Design and Lawn for kids to play. When we came to see the garden first time it looked very unpleasant with poor fencing all around, old Wisteria and couple trees but no Lawn left and lots of concrete slabs around.

Retaining Wall Patio Design Steps

We basically had to demolish everything and start from the scratch. New vertical closeboard fencing was built all around with the square Trellis on the top to add a bit more height. Small Decking was made by the back of the house to allow some Space to step out from the house and sit outside in nice secluded garden space surrounded by rendered retaining Wall. Few Steps up were built leading to the garden area with Indian Sandstone Patio Design and nice new Lawn.

Bamboos in Flower Bed

The raised Flower Bed with the wooden seat was built along the right side of the garden. Stepping stones were laid to allow easy access to the garden.

Plants in Flower Bed

The Planting is very simple and whole garden easy to maintain. Formality of the buxus balls is softened with foliage of liriope muscarii and alliums. The raised Flower Beds on the side are planted with Bamboos (Phyllostachys aurea) and underplanted with pheasant's tail grass (Stipa arundinacea). In the back the flower bed for the Bamboos were prepared carefully using the rhizome barrier so that the bamboo wouldn't spread to newly laid turf.

The Contemporary Garden Design as a whole looks neat and simple and with Bamboos growing tall it gives lots of privacy. Originally very unpleasant garden has been transformed into lovely outdoor space where kids can play and which all family can enjoy and live in.
