This English Flower Garden benefits from a vast
array of plants typically found
in large mature gardens.
When the owners bought this house, rather than the flower garden design they wanted, they inherited a run down
tennis court which they did not want. Such places are big, very big and the only positive aspect was the mature surrounding Yew Hedges.
Water was deemed essential and the flower bed design was teamed with
richly plantedborders as they are keen gardeners.
The end result is a wonderfully restful place, peaceful and sheltered that gives great pleasure throughout the year, a true gardener's garden.
Just outside the court I planned a long pergola which was beautifully built and under-planted.
This really is an English Garden at its very best.
