For those of us that wish we had a Swimming Pool in a perfect setting, this must be the ultimate view.

Our clientÂ’s brief asked us to build a spacious luxury contemporary villa with lavish outdoor relaxation and entertainment Spaces with Islamic overtures.

Contemporary Villa

The house design was kept simple, clean and sharp with Contemporary lines flowing towards the sea.

Outdoor areas were designated for sunbathing with a 'lounging' Swimming Pool, a second lap Pool with sunbathing areas, outdoor dining and relaxing areas and fruit Tree Avenue.

A second Swimming Pool was installed on the lower accommodation level so that when the owners were at the house with guests, the additional Pool and the lower accommodation areas of the house could integrate easily into the main residence or could be effectively shut off from the upper floors of the house when they were there alone, thus providing independent winter quarters for them.

A modern take on the Islamic Garden was created at the lower level of the house, encompassing the doctrine;

     "Allah has promised to the believing men and the believing women gardens, beneath which rivers flow, to abide in them, and goodly dwellings in gardens of perpetual abode; and best of all is Allah's goodly pleasure; that is the grand achievement"

The three key traditional elements of water, shade, Sanctuary and a tranquil Space for reflection and rest were implemented using travertine marble Paths and a central Pool, softened by the planting or ornamental grasses, agapanthus, Echinacea and lavenders.

Upper Swimming Pool

The plot located in the Mediterranean has outstanding sea views to the bay beyond and is naturally endowed with all the rigors of coastal living; salt spray, strong winds in winter, drying breezes and searing heat in summer.

A shading, brick-built open breeze garden house clothed in vivid fuchsia pink seating and billowing silken sails offers respite from the heat of the midday sun.

The house design and build including the creation of the outdoor spaces and gardens was approximately eighteen months.
