Stainless Steel Water Feature with Circular Deck & Sandstone Pavers

Category: Water Features, Ponds & Aquatics

Garden Design Project: WTFGOR001

This integration of both Water Feature and Decking was the second garden we constructed for this particular client, after they moved house.

As they knew our capabilities they gave us a fairly open brief, with the only stipulations being that it contained a 'Wow Factor', it was dog friendly, and it had at least one Water Feature and the overall effect was trendy and Contemporary. The idea behind the design was to create very clean, crisp garden within a black and white theme. Therefore all the retaining Walls were rendered and painted in magnolia.

Circular Deck and Patio Circular Deck

With charcoal block Pavers used as copings. The main elements within the design were a large Circular Deck, with a large Water Feature running around a third of the circumference of the circle.

Two quadrant Patios in Fossil Mint Sandstone were laid along the back of the house. Stainless Steel 'Water Blades' were set into the Wall creating sound and movement within the garden. The Planting consisted mainly of lush evergreens to balance the garden design and stop the magnolia Walls from becoming too overpowering.

Wicker Furniture

Strappy Phormium's, handsome Photinia's, waving Bamboos, feathery Grasses and scented Choisya's were all used on the fringes of the Deck, while Box balls and further grasses were used in the island Flower Bed in front of the backdrop wall. The client then finished off the garden with these big bold Wicker Furniture, which work wonderfully well in the scheme.

Stainless Steel Water Feature

Once the Water Feature was completely sealed, and patios all laid, we then spread Chinese polished black Cobbles over the remaining areas which unified the scheme and contrasted delightfully with the magnolia Walls.

In the bottom of the Pool, white spar chippings and speckled grey whirlpool boulders were used for a stylish finish at the same time disguising pipework.

Floating Stepping Stone

The main access to the Circular Deck was across a 'floating' Stepping Stone.

The two Stainless Steel water outlets can be seen at the edge of the Circular Decking.

The final effect is a relaxing outdoor room which is perfect for entertaining friends, or sitting peacefully listening to the water bubbling away.
